The requirement according to the *Federal Dietary Guideline for Americans (2005) is 2.5 to 6.5 cups or 5-13 servings daily.
The findings: Percentage of Americans Falling Short by Color Category

- Short on Green – 69%
- On Red – 74%
- White we have 83%
- then, there’s 76% on Purple/Blue
- and finally – 80% on Yellow/Orange
